I really cannot for the life of me understand why people are prepared to pay me double the amount I pay myself laser-cutting for a few hours work pulling up weeds in their gardens.
Is there no value to creativity?
On the plus side though, it means I can afford to get a few tools for the workshop.
I can relate to your post. I generally think creative work is often not appreciated enough in a monetary sense. I think it is often a lack of understanding how long something actually takes and the idea that time is money doesn’t go well with all people.
We are used to buy items that are made by hand in a country with extremely low wages, so one may assume it is easy and cheap to produce such items.
That aside, manual work and stuff like weed removal is something people generally dislike, so I feel this may be the reason for a good hourly wage :P.
